New Vacancy: Managing Director

Are you a passionate leader who believes in the power of lived experience to drive social change?

Radar is looking for a Managing Director to lead our small interdisciplinary organisation in amplifying the voices of those on the margins of societies across the world

A vibrant and motivational team builder, you will relish creating new partnerships and nurturing existing relationships, and see the value of both processes and people to deliver our social mission.

You will manage an international team of 10+ talented practitioners and project leads working at the crossroads of community engagement, journalism, civic accountability, and social tech. Your role will be to nurture, motivate and support the team while setting necessary boundaries to keep the bigger strategic picture in mind. As a creative problem solver, you’ll be comfortable with the uncertainty inherent in co-production and will have the courage to hold responsibility for risks and difficult decisions.

Whether your passion comes from your own lived experience or your professional experience in the third, public, or news and media sector, the prospect of overseeing a broad portfolio of projects should excite you. You will proudly champion our shared call to shift the power,  that pushes for a paradigm shift in the way that societies engage with marginalised communities – from seeing them as problems to be discussed and solved, to viewing them as valued collaborators to societal solutions and enriched public dialogue.

Your flexibility to work across different communities, countries, and contexts and manage diverse partners and personalities will be valued. While you’ll find the team routinely go above and beyond to deliver, you’ll know that the buck stops with you and be the first on the front line when challenges arise.

In return, you’ll find your days wonderfully varied and purposeful, filled with learning and innovation and a chance to take an exciting mission to its next level.
